Coach Al Francis Potutan has an impressive background in tennis, starting with his time as captain of the University of Santo Tomas men’s tennis varsity team in the Philippines during his undergraduate years from 2011 to 2016.
His participation in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) during this period undoubtedly honed his skills and provided him with valuable experience in competitive tennis.
Following his graduation, Coach Potutan transitioned into coaching, where he demonstrated his passion for the sport by guiding several young players towards success on the international stage. His ability to develop talent and nurture young athletes speaks volumes about his coaching expertise and dedication to the sport.
In the 2022-2023 season, Coach Potutan’s journey came full circle as he returned to his alma mater, the University of Santo Tomas, as an Assistant Coach. Under his guidance, the team achieved remarkable success, clinching first place in the UAAP tennis competition. This achievement not only reflects Coach Potutan’s coaching acumen but also highlights his ability to inspire and motivate his players to perform at their best.
